Stability Ball Crunch | Corrective Exercise for Core Strength & Spinal Control

In this video, Dr. Ken Kaufman, sports chiropractor and MLB consultant, demonstrates how to use the stability ball to engage the abs safely and effectively while protecting the spine.

Why It Works:

  • Targets the abdominal wall through full, controlled range of motion

  • Promotes spinal mobility and core stability simultaneously

  • Builds strength for athletic performance and injury prevention

  • Ideal for improving posture and trunk endurance

🏋️‍♂️ How to Perform:

  1. Sit on a stability ball and roll forward until your lower back is supported

  2. Keep your feet flat, core tight, and hands across your chest or behind your head

  3. Engage your abs and lift your chest toward the ceiling—avoid pulling on your neck

  4. Slowly lower back down under control

  5. Perform 2–3 sets of 12–15 controlled reps

💡 Pro Tip: Move slowly—focus on control, not momentum. Keep constant tension through the abs and maintain neutral alignment throughout.
